United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) Parliamentarian Piyasena Gamage was today appointed State Minister of Law and Order and Southern Development.
Gamage was sworn in as a UPFA Galle district member of Parliament last month.
Gamage was given the seat made vacant following Geetha Kumarasinghe’s removal.
Kumarasinghe lost her Parliament seat after being found unsuitable to hold a seat in Parliament as she is a dual citizen.
As a result of the court ruling Kumarasinghe lost all her Parliament privileges.
